Snow Getaway – 2 nights
Who is ready for a winter getaway?
Ever wanted to try your hand at skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing? Well Mt Buller is the perfect place to give it a go. With over 300 hectares of skiable terrain, there is something to appeal to all levels of ability. Mt Buller also has two toboggan parks, complete with their own snowmaking machines to keep the action happening all winter long.
Come with us for a 2 night stay at one of Victoria’s favourite ski-towns and we’ll treat you to the one of the best snowball fights you’ve ever had! For those that are wanting to try skiing we can also organise lessons for you with a professional ski instructor on the Saturday morning.
We will leave early on Friday morning getting to the slopes just after lunch after picking up our waterproof outfits for the weekend. We will book into our accommodation and then it’s then time to explore the mountain to see what it has on offer for us, build some snowmen and throw many snowballs. 🙂 We will make some Dinner back at the lodge and play some games before our heads hit the pillow.
Our accommodation is located in the heart of all the action on the mountain so we will be waking up to a beautiful snow sunrise. Our lodge accommodation will have men and women sleeping in separate rooms with a big lounge and kitchen available for us all to use. 🙂
Saturday morning will see us up early for breakfast and then we’ll hit the slopes. Those that have ski or snowboard lessons booked will head off to them and the rest of us can go tabogganing or relax and explore the mountain some more. We’ll then meet up as a group for lunch, some more snow play, and some further relaxing back at the lodge or tearing it up on the ski slopes. A big cook up for dinner and then free time before bed, maybe a movie by the fireplace.
Sunday morning we will check out of the lodge and make our way back down the mountain, and then back to Bendigo by late afternoon.
Please note: Mt Buller Village is located on a steep mountain side and there is a lot of uphill and downhill walking required on wet and slippery walkways, so a medium level of fitness would be required to really get the most out of your adventure. Unfortunately our accommodation is not accessible for wheelchair users.
It is the opening week of the snow season so there may not be deep snow everywhere, but there will be plenty of snow making machines in full swing and we are guaranteed to be able to ride our toboggans and ski on at least 4 runs.
