Melbourne will be home to incredible theatrical experience – which is set to be housed in the new Impresario Hippodrome at Birrarung Marr. The high-tech stage performance is faithfully based on the JM Barrie’s classic play and novel
Now let us tell you about this state of the art venue. Purpose built especially for the production – the 1500 seat, air conditioned, theatre in-the-round doesn’t have a single seat more than 20 metres from the action.
Delivering a never before seen theatre experience, the show features 360-degree video projection onto the inside upper walls of the Hippodrome, your sure to feel like you’re flying over the rooftops of Edwardian London on the way to the magical kingdom of Neverland.
The cast perform elaborate aerial feats against this backdrop to give the audience a bird’s eye view. With an original soundtrack written by celebrated composer Benjamin Wallfisch and recorded by members of the London Symphony Orchestra, the experience has been described as like living in Pixar film or a video game.
