The Adventure Ball is an accessible annual event bringing Bendigo’s disability community together for a night of dancing and fun. Catch up with old friends, meet new friends, maybe even find love … anything could happen at the Adventure Ball!

Come and boogie the night away with one of the best DJs in the business. We are going to sing, dance, and have plenty of fun with friends.

What should I wear?

Dress for comfort, pop on your favourite halloween costume or hire that tux you have always wanted to wear … this is your opportunity to shine and celebrate being you. This years theme is “Spooky Spectacular” so no matter what you decide to wear see if you can add something spooky to it and celebrate Halloween .. you can even just wear black or orange.

Can I bring my own support?

Yes! You can bring your own support. It could be a favourite support worker from any local disability support service or a responsible family member or friend. Groups are also encouraged in appropriate ratios with an experienced chaperone.

If you would prefer one of the Adventurebilities team members to support you, please complete the registration form below.

The Adventure Ball is also the perfect opportunity for support workers and carers to connect while providing support in an engaging environment.

Adventurebilities team members will be leading the event as engagement officers along with some community member volunteers, ensuring everyone has what they need to feel safe and to encourage participation with other guests.

What drinks are available?

Alcoholic beverages will be available at bar prices for those who wish to drink responsibly.  Soft drinks and Barista made coffees will also be available for purchase from the bar.

Please note that anyone exhibiting anti-social behaviour will be kindly asked to leave the venue. The Adventure Ball is a happy place for you to come and make new friends, please leave all of your troubles at home. 🙂

Tell me about the venue?

The Adventure Ball will be held at the Bendigo Regional Tennis Centre, the perfect location as it has many accessible car parks, 5 accessible bathrooms and plenty of accommodation options available nearby for those that are coming from further away. Public transport is also available with a bus stop 100m up the road and being in the heart of town, taxi’s are available with a phone call or online booking.

There will be a dance floor with pumping tunes, as well as tables and chairs for people to put their feet up after a boogie session. Guests in wheelchairs can access all areas of the event space, and there are quieter areas for anyone who may need some time-out.

What activities will be available?

THE PHOTO BOOTH IS BACK!! Use our spooky props and get some photos taken with your friends, and a photo memory to take home with you.

ADVENTURE PONG will also make its triumphant return … who will be 2024’s supreme champion team?

Plus many other indoor and outdoor activities to keep you entertained.

What to expect on the night.

What to wear?
Have you decided on your outfit yet? You can come dressed in your most comfy clothes, a pair of jeans, or maybe a suit and tie, a fancy dress, superhero costume, how about a ball gown … the choice is yours. This years theme is “Spooky Spectacular” so no matter what you decide to wear see if you can add something spooky to it and celebrate Halloween … you can even just wear black or orange.

Photos
There will be a Photo Booth at the party where you can go and hang out with your friends and capture your amazing outfits together. The booth is completely accessible so everyone can use it if they wish and take a copy of their photo home with them as a momento.

There will also be some photos taken of the party in general and many of them uploaded to social media. If you do not wish to be in any photos on the night, please see our friendly welcoming team at the door upon arrival and they will give you a coloured sticker to wear so that everyone knows not to take photos of you. If you happen to be in the background of any photos we will happily blur your face before posting any of them online so you remain anonymous. And don’t you worry, any photos that are posted will always be of your good side 🙂

Name Tags
Sometimes it is difficult to hear each other when there is music playing, and it is also difficult to remember things. So we are going to make it a little easier for you all by providing stickers at the front door upon arrival so you can write your name on it and put one on your top. This will make it easier for you to mingle with each other and make some new friends, and not have to remember everyones name throughout the night. 🙂

Drinks
This is a licensed event so those that wish to purchase alcohol may choose to do so at the bar. It is really important that if you choose to drink, you do so responsibly. Anti-social behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated and the person will be asked to leave the venue immediately. Each guest must be accompanied by their own carer/support worker and they will be required to monitor your alcohol intake and support you appropriately.

Food
Please make sure you eat dinner before you come to the Adventure Ball. There will be some snacks available throughout the night but no meals will be provided.

Tickets
All tickets will sent via email to everyone who has paid. If you do not have your tickets please check your junk mail and if they are not there respond to this email or give us a call on 0480 185 840 and we will resend them to you.

A reminder that all guests and carers must have their own ticket. You can show us your ticket either on your phone or on a print out and it will be scanned and checked off.

There will be pass outs available on the night, so if you need to leave the venue and come back please make sure you speak to the team at the door to get your pass.

Support
If you have elected to be supported by our Adventure team on the night, we will be in contact with you shortly with further details and pickup times.

The Adventurebilities team will be greeting you at the door and will be available throughout the night to assist you in any way we can.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us on 0480 185 840, otherwise we look forward to seeing you at the Adventure Ball.
